Fox and ‘mousing’

My client used to watch foxes in the wild close to her village. As an astonishing child memory she wanted to have this as a tattoo.

Here is an little bit story about their hunting methods:

Imagine a serene winter landscape, blanketed in fresh, glistening snow. As the fox prowls through the white expanse, it relies on its acute hearing to detect the faintest sounds beneath the snow. This is where the magic begins! When a fox hears the rustle of a small creature, like a mouse, scurrying just below the surface, it prepares for a spectacular leap.

With a swift and graceful motion, the fox will pounce, launching itself into the air and landing precisely on the spot where it believes its prey is hiding. This technique, known as "mousing," is not only effective but also a breathtaking sight to behold. The fox's thick fur keeps it warm, while its bushy tail helps with balance during these agile manoeuvres.

So, in the snowy wilderness, the fox is not just a hunter; it is an artist of survival, using its instincts and skills to thrive in a beautiful yet challenging environment.
